Customary, New Year’s Day is a day for wishes, amendments and of course resolutions. Hopes for a better year after a disastrous series of years where every …year before was proven better than the one that followed.
Still, here we are full of wishes, amendments and of course resolutions in front of a year that has already laid a shadow of sorrow and fear upon all of us, wherever we live. And I’m really sorry to say, there are no signs of optimism doesn’t matter where you look at.
Putin hits mercilessly Ukraine while Netanyahu hits mercilessly Gaza’s innocent. Both with the same excuse, Putin hunts neo-Nazi terrorists, Netanyahu Islamism terrorists. In the meantime, Viktor Orbán, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Giorgia Meloni, Geert Wilders, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Javier Milei, Kim Jong Un, Narendra Modi, slaughter systematically democracy, freedom of press, freedom of expression and any kind of opposition to their corrupted regimes.
And then it is Donald Trump’s wishful second coming!
This last one scares me more than anything and it is not the clown-conman himself, but the blueprint he establishes and the fact that his presence is a megaphone and excuse for every Nazi parasite, every racist, every homophobe, Islamophobe, every prejudice and every discrimination to surface and parade in front of all of us carrying swastikas and wearing KKK hoodies, all in the name of ….democracy!
That is happening the last seven years all around the world, that is happening now and Donald Trump is the one who opened the door of this tomb. I cannot even imagine swastikas in the streets of any capital anywhere in the world thirty years ago and …here we are. Nazis with swastikas parading in Washington DC, London, Paris, Athens.
And at the moment they seem to win.
And hope looks paler and paler every single day.
This is why it is important for us to be here. To stand and shout. Perhaps it is our voice the last stand. It has happened so many times before and we have so many martyrs all through history to prove it.
I don’t know if there is anything else to say here.
Write; express your frustration, your anger, your opinions.
Weaponize your reasoning against all those fascist, racist dictators.
Be here, be heard!
